Indy 500 Quick Guide

The 110th running of the Indianapolis 500 is over two hundred days away. Ive decided to give fans who may be attending the race for the first time an inside look at where the best places to go are while attending The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.

The NTT INDYCAR SERIES is renowned for fan access. Through the Bronze Badge, fans can get access to the famous Gasoline Alley, where fans can get up close to the cars and drivers that they love.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is located at 4790 W 16th Street in the town of Speedway. So, what is there to see in Speedway during the race weekend?

Well, the legendary team, AJ Foyt Racing whose race shop is located on Main Street, Speedway have the Foyt Wine Vault which is also a restaurant which is a favorite amongst race fans. When it comes to places to eat on Main Street there is Charlie Brown’s Pancake and Steak House which is a staple amongst race fans with the restaurant full of racing memorabilia.

Barbecue and Bourbon on Main Street is a great place to spot drivers and other team personnel with it being a favourite place to eat for the likes of 2013 Indianapolis 500 winner and Arrow McLaren Team Principal Tony Kanaan.

Dallara, the chassis supplier to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES have their factory on Main Street which is open to the public. 

The famed Indiana Motor Speedway Museum re-opens to the public on April 2nd after undergoing major renovations. Tickets for the museum can be purchased through their website https://imsmuseum.org/.

For fans looking for something to do away from racing, there is the Monon walking trail. In Downtown Indianapolis there is Gainbridge Fieldhouse home to the Indianapolis Pacers NBA team while there is also Lucas Oil Stadium, there is also The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

When it comes to restaurants in Indianapolis there is the Bottle works, the old Coca-Cola bottling plant which has been transformed in a food hall.

There is also Ford’s Garage in Noblesville which is a short drive from Indianapolis.
